716 Acres
Working as a consultant to WATG, The Planning Studio prepared a master plan for a 290-hectare (716-acre) island located off the coast of the city of Abu Dhabi. The master plan was prepared on behalf of Emaar PSJC as part of a competition on behalf of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. The 1.5 million square meters of developed land was proposed in three resort themes: The Marina Village, The Golf Residential Precinct, and the Waterfront Estates Precinct. The Marina Village encompassed 490,000 square meters of land overlooking the downtown resort entrance. The resort retail included world class branded boutiques, galleries, restaurants and cafes. The marina precinct contained a 300 room Marina Hotel. The 18-hole golf course was surrounded by approximately 33 golf villas and 1,200 mid-rise villas. The final four holes of the golf course play out over the water. There is also a lake driving range. There was also 44 floating villas and 95 waterfront estate lots. For: Emaar PSJC
